MISSION
The mission of the European League for Non-Western Studies (ELNWS) is to operate as a promotional organization for non-western studies at the European and national levels .
Aims
The ELNWS wants to fulfil its mission by:
- allowing the member universities to develop internationally competitive graduate programs through the exchange of graduate students and teaching staff and by combining resources;
- successfully applying for subsidy in the framework of European programmes by showing the European Union the importance of education and research in the field of non-western studies for the whole of Europe.
Activities
In order to reach the first aim, the ELNWS supports (financially and where necessary also administratively) the following activities of its members:
- the exchange of students;
- the exchange of research and/or teaching personnel;
- the organisation of joint academic and scientific activities, such as courses, conferences, seminars, symposia or lectures;
- the development of collaborative research projects;
- the exchange of publications and other materials of common interest.
